What are Troveo’s technical requirements?
Last updated: October 15, 2025
Here’s a quick overview of Troveo’s technical requirements and supported formats to help you set up your files and workflows smoothly.
RAW footage and transcoding
We strongly recommend submitting transcoded footage. Footage that is not transcoded will take significantly longer to process.
The ideal file formats are .MOV and .MP4.
We support both H.264 and H.265 codecs.
4K footage: 80 Mbps bitrate is preferred
1080p footage: 20 Mbps bitrate is preferred
Both of these settings meet our standards for cinematic quality.
Color grading
We strongly prefer color-graded footage. Footage that is not color-graded may take longer to process. The Rec. 709 color profile is optimal for most submissions.
Frame rate (FPS)
We accept all frame rates, including slow-motion footage. However, artificially slowing footage to increase runtime will not increase licensable minutes.
Watermarks
Please ensure all footage is free of watermarks before submission.
Digitized footage and film reels
We recommend digitized footage captured at 24 fps and a minimum resolution of 1080p.
If you have footage that has not yet been digitized, please contact our team to discuss potential digitization options.
Aspect ratio
We accept common landscape and vertical aspect ratios, including 1:1, 16:9, and 9:16.
